Fishy Genetics
A group of students, with the help of Mr. Mark Collins, has begun an exploration into the study of genetics. Using Danio fish, four aquariums and their curiosity, they aim to explore the possibilities that can come from environmental factors on genetics.
So far, 4 tanks have been set up in the discovery lab at the school with a plan of action in the works for how the students and Mr. Collins will be proceeding. Once the plan has been proposed, the document in it's entirety will be posted here for curious community members to read about how our students are making a difference.

Let It Grow!
As the population grows, we must find better solutions to effectively and efficiently growing crops. One student at Jane Collins Academy has begun their own experiment in agriculture to determine what external stimuli can positively affect plant grow. So far, the skilled trades class has constructed a cold box for the budding researcher to use, and the proposal for phase one of their project is in the works. This proposal will be made public as soon as it has been completed!
