For the information of students and families, below is a list of scholarships available to students for the 2018 - 2019 school year.
Jane Collins Academy is happy to announce the arrival of our new Community Greenhouse! The 20 x 24 structure will be open to both the public and students to grow and learn together.
Anyone wanting to get involved in our new Green Jags programs is asked to contact the school to share your ideas and your passion. On April 13th the students of JCA, along with fellow students from across the province participated in one of the largest, non competitive, music events of it's kind. School Stock 2017 was a huge hit and a huge success.
With 40 acts, 5 workshops, professional performances and tons of talent on display, there was no shortage of interest and excitement bursting from the school walls. If you would like to read more about this wonderful event, the Gander Beacon published a piece on April 20th about the event and both CBC and Eastlink aired specials. Great job to everyone who helped out and see you all next year! This year, we will have a number of students participating in Encounters with Canada. This month, our students will be participating in the Sports and Fitness workshops starting on January 29th. These workshops all happen in our countries capital, Ottawa, and we wish these students happy travels and lots of fun exploring our beautiful nation. We want to wish all out traveling students a wonderful experience and bon voyage! Jane Collins Academy would like to thank the Gander Rotary Club and Gander Hyundai for their contributions to our breakfast program. Their generosity is very much appreciated by everyone in our school community and will go a long way in supporting our great program.
A large group of students in levels 1, 2 and 3 are headed to Ottawa to participate in the Encounters with Canada Program.
Students will be involved in workshops ranging from Medicine and Health, Arts and Culture and Sports and Fitness. Congratulations to all those who have been accepted. For more information on the program, please visit https://www.ewc-rdc.ca/pub/ |
